the journey of living and dying under dobbs
I began stitching Living and Dying Under Dobbs in April of 2025.
Since then, the project has manifested in many ways.
Politics
Displayed at campaign fundraiser for Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul. Highland Park, IL. July 30, 2026.
To mark the fourth anniversary of Dobbs, I was invited to participate in “Abortion Stories on the Hill,” sponsored by Free & Just. I met with lawmakers, showing them my project, and attended the Senate forum “Post Dobbs Chaos: Republicans’ War on Reproductive Healthcare” (and chased down Senator Elizabeth Warren to give her the print book). I also met many of the people whose stories I tell in the project. Washington DC. June 23-25, 2026.
exhibits
Solo exhibit. Selected volumes. Montana Book Company, Helena, MT. July 8-11, 2026.
—Artist talk on July 9 with special guest Anne Angus, a reproductive rights advocate affiliated with Free & Just. I tell Anne’s story in Volume 8.
Solo exhibit. Volumes 1-7. Albright Gallery, Lake Forest College, March 3-29, 2026. See images and visitor responses.
—Opening reception followed by panel discussion with reproductive rights advocates Dr. Kristin Lyerly, OBGYN and main plaintiff in case that restored abortion access in Wisconsin, and Gracie Ladd, affiliated with Free & Just. I tell her story in Volume 7.
